Electric furnaces for a sauna

Cast iron bath stoves Hephaestus - the only stoves that operate in the Russian steam and Finnish dry-air sauna mode. The difference between a Russian bath is a high air humidity of 60% at high temperatures. In this case, humidity should increase with fine light steam. It is very easy to breathe with such steam at high temperatures, in the steam room you can be comfortable for a longer time. Light steam, unlike microdrops of raw steam, accumulates in the upper part of the steam room under the ceiling, which is convenient for bath procedures.

Considering the needs for such characteristics, a cast-iron sauna stove was created, which in quality of the finely dispersed steam produced is no worse than in a traditional Russian brick sauna stove, and in terms of ease of use and speed of heating the air in the steam room, it significantly exceeds it. Hephaestus bath stoves differ significantly from the steel and other cast-iron stoves on the market. Considering that finely dispersed steam is obtained when water enters a surface with a temperature above 450 C, in Hephaestus furnaces the main mortgage is the top plate (heater), which is heated by direct fire and has a trapezoidal shape to increase the area of heating and evaporation of water. Hephaestus bath stoves are 2-chamber furnace units - the furnace is equipped with a flame arrester that divides the furnace into 2 compartments horizontally. Gases from burning wood first move along the side walls, accelerating the transfer of heat from burning wood to the steam room, and then, making a 180-degree turn, continue to move toward the exit, moving along the recesses of the heater. The furnaces are equipped with a pearlite gas afterburning system, which allows oxygen to be supplied from under the grate to the upper chamber, significantly increasing combustion efficiency. These solutions significantly increase the efficiency and make it possible to quickly reach a heater temperature of 500-650 C. The difference between the Hephaestus sauna stove is that the main steam is obtained from the cast-iron surface of the top plate - the stove.

All existing bath stoves heat the stone, as stone laying is not heated by direct fire, it is impossible to heat up to a temperature of 600 ° C. Accordingly, the steam from the stones is wet. Because of this, large bath complexes do not use stone, but lay cast-iron ingots and cores that are heated by a direct flame.

Cast iron is 3 times denser than stone and has a significantly higher heat capacity, quickly transfers heat from the inner layers to the outer ones - you can give unlimited amounts of water to the cast iron stove in a row, instantly increasing humidity and temperature in a steam room from superheated steam. Steam from cast iron is the most finely dispersed, healthy, does not burn the lungs with hot drops of water.

The walls of the furnace are equipped with unique convection ribs, which significantly increase the area of thermal radiation. Convection ribs are a necessary solution with a large thickness of cast-iron walls, they allow you to transfer heat from burning wood to the steam room much faster. The wall thickness from 10 to 50 mm makes Hephaestus the most reliable furnace among cast-iron stoves, and the resulting mass of the furnace accumulates a large amount of heat, allows you to enjoy bathing procedures for a long time, and significantly reduces the consumption of firewood compared to iron stoves.

Cast iron is the best material for a bath furnace: with the same mass of cast iron and steel, the heat capacity of cast iron is greater than steel. And with the same declared cubic capacity (power), the mass of Hephaestus furnaces is 3-5 times higher than the mass of steel and 2 times higher than other cast iron furnaces (When comparing, pay attention to the weight of the oven!) Cast iron, unlike steel, not only transfers the thermal energy of combustible firewood, but also accumulates it, and then evenly gives it back. The surface temperature is constantly high even in the absence of burning firewood for at least 3 hours. This eliminates the need to maintain continuous burning and allows you to seriously save on firewood - with the same time using a steam room, the consumption of firewood is 2-3 times less than that of a steel stove.

The combination of all design features and materials of the Hephaestus cast-iron furnace made it possible to bring the efficiency to 90%. These indicators are not available in any sauna stove produced by domestic and foreign manufacturers.

Hephaestus bath stoves are made only from high-quality heat-resistant cast iron. A well-known fact - cast iron is resistant to corrosion and high chemical resistance. The solutions of carbonic and sulfuric acids contained in the flue gas condensate corrode any steel over time, cast iron, on the contrary, is not affected by them. A unique cast iron crystal lattice, increased thickness of parts, horizontal and vertical stiffening ribs allow the Hephaestus furnace to withstand heavy weight and not warp at high temperatures, which is inaccessible to furnaces made of any kind of steel. We do not use welded and bolted joints in the design of our furnaces, which further increases reliability. The combination of the above factors indicates the unsurpassed reliability of our furnaces and allows us to give a factory guarantee for a period of 5 years (the longest on the market), and the service life of the furnaces is much longer.

The Hephaestus cast-iron bath stoves are additionally equipped with extension tubes for the furnace tunnel - the furnace portal can be moved out at any distance increasing the length in increments of 100 mm.

Hephaestus cast-iron sauna stoves can be delivered both complete with forged mesh for backfilling stones and bricked. Also, all models of furnaces can be equipped with facings made of natural stone. When using elongated starting cast-iron pipes, nets or, respectively, claddings are offered for them to protect against thermal radiation and create a harmonious design with the basic design of the furnace.

The portals of the Hephaestus stoves are decorated with art casting, covered with heat-resistant German enamel and golden patina, they will give solidity to any interior of the relaxation room. There are enlarged portals for a larger area of glass and a better view of the burning of firewood.

Our furnaces are installed in many public bath complexes in Russia, where they have shown their reliability, high efficiency and the ability to produce light finely dispersed steam. According to all the main indicators, the Hephaestus cast-iron bath stoves are the best on the market. The oven is the heart of the bath, do not make a mistake when choosing! You can buy a stove cheaper than a Hephaestus cast iron stove, but it’s better - you can’t! When buying a Hephaestus sauna stove in any configuration, we are sure that you will be satisfied with the purchase and will advise your friends!

How is a sauna organized

She can be assigned a place like in the apartment (even if it is modest in size - often a place is allocated for this on the balcony), so in a separate building. Under the sauna you can finish the room, Can i buy a ready-made version of the booth (different volumes), which is simply installed on the allocated area inside the house.

By the way, the Finnish bath is usually attached pool or at least the opportunity to plunge into the bath. The problem is solved to the best of the owner's capabilities. However, it is worth noting that pool are two important issues: its weight with water together and the moisture it creates.

Weight will determine the load on the foundation, and humidity - measures of protection against it (waterproofing and ventilation of the room).

The regime, which involves a real Finnish bath, is not without reason called the "dry air". This is a combination of fresh, quickly heated to high temperatures (optimally keep heating in the region of 90 degrees) and low humidity generated by steam from an open heater.

Studying the necessary conditions, you come to the conclusion that today an electric sauna stove with built-in monitoring and control functions is the most optimal option. Only gas can compete with it, but gas stoves need permission, and the wood less controlled - they have their own laws. You can verify the reasonedness of our opinion by reading the following article: Steam rooms: on wood, gas, electricity.

However, it is worth doing a short excursion right here, in which we describe the design of furnaces operating on different types of fuel.

What stoves are there?

What do different types of devices have in common? The function of generating heat and transferring it to the environment. Heat is obtained from fuel, which may be:

Coal is not recommended for use in sauna stoves.but you can use pellets.

In the first two cases we need combustion chamber for fuel, where either firewood or a gas burner are placed. In the latter case, the camera is not needed because the nichrome thread heats upplaced either in a curved tube (TEN), or in another shell (tape heater).

Accordingly, there is no need to design an electric furnace for saunas divide heater and fuel compartment - they are one bowl with heating elements, where the empty space is filled with stones.

Otherwise, wood and gas stoves can be identical - there are companies that produce the same model with variations for gas and firewood.

In addition to the fuel compartment, each bath stove has compartment for stones - open or closed, separated from the fire or allowing the flame to wash the stones. Open heaters are good for better convection. - redistribution of heat between the stove and the room. Closed is features of the Russian bath, where the stones are heated to temperatures that overheat the steam and make it light, finely divided.

Another important point - materialfrom which the stove is made. It could be brick (including cast iron) or metal. The first one heats up for a long time, cools down for a long time, it is used either as the material of the furnace itself, or the casing.

A brick oven heats for a long time, gives a lower temperature, but keeps it much longer than a metal one.

Metal furnace - heats up quickly, quickly gives off heat, cools quickly. To correct the heat transfer process, it is often surrounded by a brick or stone casing. Furnaces for a bathhouse on various types of fuel are produced from metal: electric, gas and wood. Often, manufacturers create an additional convection casing of metal - air circulates freely in an empty space, not allowing the surface to overheat, but maintaining strong convection.

By appointment, metal stoves are best suited specifically for the Finnish bath. We have an article detailing what is good and what is bad for a Russian bath: “The best stoves for a Russian bath.”

Now that you have an idea of the similarities and differences between bath stoves, it’s worth evaluating the benefits that an electric stove provides for a sauna.

Pros and cons of electric stoves for baths and saunas

The fact that an electric furnace is made of metal is first plus of this type. Other advantages stem from the fact that electricity is converted into thermal energy directly. Just compare it with firewood, which is full of problems and garbage, not to mention the fact that the wood burning stove itself cannot be mobile - it is tied to a chimney.

Yes, electric furnaces for a steam sauna mobile, they need only a sheet of non-combustible material down under the floor models or do not need anything at all if the model is suspended.

The many advantages of electric stoves can be completely leveled by the fact that electricity is an expensive resource. Therefore, those who prefer inexpensive solutions should pay attention to other options. But there are compromises. After all the power of the stove, which can be put in the apartment, is quite comparable with the power of an electric kettle and less power than some steam irons. But the sauna, which is heated by such a stove, will be designed for no more than two people.

Second minus - it's small difficulty with wiring. It is better to invite an electrician, who will stretch the three phases if you took a 380 volt stove, and determine the suitability of the existing wiring, and grounding will. But there are 220 volt stoves, and this is the usual voltage in a household network.

If we talk about Is the sauna heater good for a sauna in a Russian bath, then much depends on the traditional ideas of its owner. Take a look at our articles on the Russian bath (see links above) - it says a lot about why the metal furnace is not physically able to give the required condition, and an electric sauna stove is no exception to this rule.

At the same time, among people who are less scrupulous about tradition, it is widely believed that electric furnaces for a sauna and a bath at the same time are quite suitable, the main thing is that integrated steam generator and fine adjustment of temperature and humidity, allowing you to switch from Finnish to Russian bath.

This video explains why most electric heaters are not suitable for a Russian bath, but information is added about the extremely small varieties of stoves that are quite suitable.

By the way, we have not yet touched on such an important issue as the country of production. But it is precisely by this criterion that equipment for a sauna is often purchased.

Whose production is better?

Despite the fact that the market is literally littered with a variety of models, there are not so many main players on it. In Russia you can buy stoves:

Wherein Finnish companies prevail. But there is nothing to be surprised at - this is their national bathhouse. And the consumer feels more confidence in the company, which knows firsthand about the bathing traditions of its people.

Here is a list of the main Finnish companies that produce electric sauna heaters:

We have a long article about one of these companies, namely, Harvia, with a description of most of the families of its extensive range. but do not rush to conclude that other firms are worse. Just Harvia in Russia knows more than people. And quality products are characteristic of all companies in this market.

The Swedes are represented by Tylo, and the Germans are EOS. Russian companies: Uralprom, Polytech, Teplodar, Ermak, Fuel and Energy Complex. Realizing that the place is already taken by the Finns and other Europeans, the Russians are trying to give their products a certain highlight, which would distinguish it from competitors - affordable ribbon heaters, eg. Therefore, those who are still in search can safely recommend viewing and domestic offers.

By the way, we decided that the opinions of other readers like you can help draw up a real picture of the preferences of Russians based on the experience. We invite you to get acquainted with the results of the survey and, if desired, take an active part in it.

Finally, let's find out the opinions of the owners of saunas about the stoves they purchased:

Electric furnace for a sauna: reviews

Individual mention was given to users the opportunity to choose various designs. According to the owner of the sauna network, who opted for Narvi products, this is a big plus, as well as the affordable price of its models.

The fact that electric sauna stoves are made mainly from stainless alloysthat guarantees them durability.

Among "Ideal" models electric furnaces in the sauna are featured, for example, SAWO Cumulus CML-60 NB, Narvi NM, SAWO Tower TH3-60 NB.

Many admit that they have opted for Finnish stoves. But there are those who appreciated the merits of domestic products.

In particular, the Kristina Classic sauna heater manufactured by Polytech says that the tape heater in it is not afraid of watertherefore it can be poured without fear.

Other users they see in Russian electric saunas a “memory of the tank” and prefer Eurodesign.

Another category of consumers pays attention to the possibility of using a sauna stove in the "Russian bath" mode. One of them says that he is very pleased with the capabilities of the Swedish Tylo Combi oven with controlled humidity and temperature.

As for consthen most often mention high power consumption and considerable cost high-quality models.

Remote control almost everyone considers it an advantage.

Specifications

Gefest is considered one of the best among domestic enterprises. For many years, the brand has been producing cast-iron bath stoves and related furnace products. Stoves for the Russian baths of this company occupy a leading position in their niche.

The units have a high level of thermal conductivity and are manufactured using a special casting technology, with the help of which the base of the initial product has optimal quality without any damage.

Bath Gefest stoves are available in two versions: with coil lining and with mesh for stone laying.

All units are made of fire-resistant raw materials and are resistant to corrosion, fungus or mechanical damage.

Advantages and disadvantages

Gefest sauna stoves have a lot of advantages. The special device of the stoves allows you to heat the room to the required temperature in the shortest possible time. At the maximum rate the heating level of the unit body reaches 7 thousand degrees, and the smoke reaches 3.5 thousand degrees.

Another advantage is the economical fuel consumption of devices achieved with a flame arrester. It provides air circulation inside the furnace, and does not go directly into the chimney. The presence of warm air inside the walls of the unit gives it additional heating and retains heat longer.

It is cast-iron stoves that contribute to the formation of light smoke, which is famous for the Russian bath. This effect is achieved due to the characteristics of the material itself. Compared to metal counterparts, cast iron has a greater specific gravity, due to this heat in the bath may be delayed for more than four hours.

Among other advantages, Gefest bath stoves have increased wear resistance and durability.

The device is resistant to any mechanical damage, due to the strength of the material, and high performance increases the duration of its use.

The only drawback of domestic-made stoves is their increased cost, but it is absolutely justified by the excellent quality and performance of the units.

Distinctive features

Gefest is a domestic manufacturer of heating and climatic equipment, built-in appliances. For the manufacture of cast-iron furnaces, the company uses a special casting technology.

So they get excellent thermal conductivity. The company's products are the only bath units that are fully produced in Russia. Therefore, careful control is exercised over each stage of production.

Hephaestus produces stoves for baths and saunas.

They are produced in such forms:

  • with a grid for laying stone,
  • for brick cladding,
  • faced by a coil.

Also, models differ in the volume of the heated room: up to 45 cubic meters. meters and from 45 to 120 cubic meters. meters.

The furnace can be with a cast-iron damper or a door made of special heat-resistant glass. In this "window" you can observe the burning process and enjoy the flame.

The furnaces are equipped with a flame arrester and a secondary gas afterburning system.. They allow you to maintain the temperature of the stones at the level of 500-700 degrees. Therefore, the steam turns out finely dispersed - it is very light, pleasant and healthy. Also on the bath heater, you can set the smoldering mode.

Due to the fact that hot air remains inside, the steam room maintains a high temperature for a long time.

All models have a high coefficient of performance - 87%. This percentage is achieved due to the special design. The furnace unit has two chambers separated by a flame arrester.

Gases of burning fuel first move along the side walls, and then rotate 180 degrees and move to the exit, moving along the recesses of the heater.

Gefest products are delivered unassembled. There is a sealant in the kit. They can be installed independently or with the help of professionals.

Material - cast iron grade SCH20-25 ChH10. The wall thickness is from one to six centimeters. How are cast iron stoves different from steel or brick? Cast iron is an environmentally friendly and non-toxic material. He is not afraid of oxidation and corrosion. The alloy does not deform when heated and retains strength.

Additional details included. With their help, the distance from the furnace to the portal can be increased.

Of particular note is the design of the furnaces. They will be written off both in the interior of a log bathhouse and in a classic sauna. Doors are decorated with molding. Models for brick facing can be decorated with ceramic tiles.

Advantages and disadvantages

Strengths of Hephaestus Products:

  • stoves quickly heat the room,
  • Thanks to the flame arrester, hot air remains inside the unit and it retains heat for a long time,
  • fuel economy
  • Due to the nature of the material, the heat in the room is stored for up to five hours
  • solid appearance
  • the design can be used in both Russian and Finnish steam rooms,
  • compactness
  • there is no need to lay the foundation for the furnace,
  • service life of several decades.

But, like any product, aggregates have disadvantages.

In the case of Hephaestus goods, this is a rather high price.. You will also have to think about the lining of the furnace, as cast iron cracks if hot water gets on it. Problems may arise with transportation, as such units are very heavy.

  • PB 04 MS. The model has a built-in steam generator, which provides the stove in two modes: bath and sauna. The heater has a capacity of 150 kilograms. The weight of the product with a full heater is 270 kg.

Installation

Gefest furnaces are sold unassembled, which simplifies the delivery process with subsequent assembly and installation.

The assembled device can weigh from 100 to 950 kilograms, so it’s better to embed it directly in the bath, it is advisable to take someone as an assistant to make the process go faster.

It should be noted that the design of the units is so simple that it can be mounted independently without resorting to professionals.

By the method of assembly, all stoves can be divided into two types:

  • With facing. To install these models, you will need to connect to the chimney system and prepare a solid surface. This type includes bath stoves in talcum chloride, which has healing functions. The manufacturing company provides customers with several options for facing, which depend on a particular model.
  • Brick finish. Models of this type imply facing with bricks. Their case is specially designed for such work. In this case, the appearance completely depends on the taste preferences of the owner.

The second type of stove is cheaper because talc chloride is a fairly expensive material.

The device can be overlaid with both brick and natural stone. When working, some features and recommendations of professionals should be taken into account. The distance between the wall and convection holes should be at least 55 centimeters.

After completing the brick cladding process, the kiln can be coated with ceramics, tiles, granite or other heat-resistant material.

It is recommended to use mixtures with chamotte clay in the composition, as they provide better oven safety. Be sure to follow all the requirements in the manufacturer's instructions.

Firebox

Gefest bath stoves should be heated either with firewood or with special fuel bars. Under no circumstances should coal or wood waste be used. It is recommended that the unit be flooded with hard rocks.

When heated, wood talchloride stoves begin to release useful substances with the effect of aromatherapy when heated. Wood-burning stoves contribute to uniform heating of the bath, which provides comfort and relaxation.

Reviews

Buyers of Gefest bath stoves leave quite positive opinions on the network, which are another proof of the manufacturer's integrity.

Units work perfectly and have a long service life. The bath warms up evenly and quickly. Staying in such a steam room gives a lot of pleasure to the owners. High quality, as well as the quality factor of the units, which are able to heat not only the bathhouse itself, but also the adjacent room are noted.

Owners of models with an elongated furnace opening are pleased with the ability to heat the device from the outside. Talcochloride-clad stoves provide even greater pleasure.

The possibility of using certain models in two modes, for a sauna and for a bath, is also noted as a plus. Owners of stoves designed for facing with bricks are pleased to be able to independently choose the design of the unit and set the tone for the entire interior in the bathhouse.

Among the minuses, some users highlight the high cost of units.

Despite the ease of installation, not everyone runs smoothly, so it’s better to call professionals.

Whatever model of Gefest sauna stoves is chosen, in any case, a reliable unit will stand in the steam room, which will last for many years.

Features

The bathing ceremony is a traditional ritual used not only for relaxation, but also for health purposes. Cast iron is becoming increasingly popular as a stove material.

The cast-iron stove for a bath differs from its predecessors in a number of advantages.

  • High heat resistance, which is achieved due to the addition of chromium. An additional advantage is the ability to withstand sudden changes in temperature.
  • High heat capacity and low heat conductivity. It is on the basis of these properties that the room will quickly warm up, but the accumulated heat will leave slowly (up to 9 hours).

  • Cast iron heating equipment has thick walls that easily pass heat, but do not burn out from high temperatures.
  • Subject to the installation technology, the cast-iron stove is absolutely fireproof.
  • Small sizes allow you to place the equipment in the room of any parameters.
  • To install such a furnace does not need a foundation.
  • For the smooth operation of heating equipment requires a small amount of firewood.

  • Ecological purity and safety of the material itself.
  • During operation, there is no burning of oxygen.
  • The steam released is not only not harmful to humans, but also brings certain health benefits.
  • Long service life in case of correct operation of the device.

Cast iron heating device is characterized by versatility: it simultaneously heats both the air in the steam room and the water. A cast iron stove fits well into the interior of the bathhouse and harmoniously looks in the steam room with any design. Despite the fact that the stove has compact dimensions, it weighs quite a lot - about 60 kilograms.

At the same time, it is easily transported and installed.

The lining of the furnace is selected solely from individual wishes and can be performed from almost any material. For example, it can be lined with brick or tile, or you can not expose additional external cladding. Facing may be required if an unscrupulous manufacturer has saved on the quality of the material being manufactured. Poor cast iron is able to crack during operation. To avoid such troubles, it is recommended to clad the heater.

For installation in a bathhouse of a private house, you should choose stoves made of cast iron of the highest quality. It is not worth saving when buying a product, it is important to carefully study its chemical composition so that when using it does not collide with the deformation of the material.

The main disadvantages of cast iron stoves are several.

  • Even at the installation stage, it is necessary to provide for the construction of a full-fledged chimney, which is not a prerequisite for installing electric boilers.
  • During operation, the elements of the furnace should be treated with increased accuracy, since the material is brittle.
  • High cost in comparison with analogues made of steel.
  • It is impossible to cool the furnace sharply, as the metal may crack.

The operating principles of all models are almost the same, there are only small differences in the level of heat storage and the heat transfer rate. For different types of furnaces, these indicators differ depending on the characteristics.

The main models of cast iron stoves from Russian manufacturers, appearing on the modern market, meet all modern requirements and have excellent technical characteristics.

Wood cast-iron stoves for a bath are in high demand due to their simple design, high level of reliability and ease of operation. The shape of the furnace can be rectangular, square or round.

The principle of operation of such a furnace is quite simple:

  • The wood-burning stove is equipped with a firebox in which solid fuel is placed,
  • In the process of combustion, heat is generated, which is taken either by the furnace body or by the heater.

There are models where the design provides for an opening that allows you to bookmark firewood not only through the twin compartment, but also in the adjacent room. Models that can be classified as “advanced” are equipped with a water tank in which the water is heated and used for washing. Heating is due to the heat that the housing gives off.

Combustion products are removed through an ash pan located under the furnace.

The next type is stoves with a closed heater. In terms of fuel consumption, this is the most economical option. The level of soot formation in them is much lower than that of other models. The volume of the heated room is up to 45 m3. One of the design features is the location of the stones inside the furnace itself. They are completely hidden from view, water is supplied through a hole located on top, as a result, the liquid turns into dry clean steam.

Another popular type of heater for a bath is a stationary stove with a dull firebox. The size of these stoves is small, and they perfectly complement the interior of the steam room. They are often used in limited-sized buildings without a utility room. Sitting in the steam room, you can watch how the firewood burns. Of course, the permanent storage of firewood near the stove is prohibited, as this is fraught with the possibility of fire.

The next model is a stationary furnace with an external firebox. For such models, the furnace is placed in the back room or in the rest room.

Firewood can be placed safely next to such a stove, as the possibility of fire is excluded.

Not always there is an opportunity or desire to heat the stove with wood. Therefore, an excellent option would be the acquisition of gas cast iron stoves. In addition, with the help of specialists, a wood cast iron stove can be converted into a gas appliance.

This procedure cannot be carried out independently, since installation of a certified gas burner is required. She inspects the gas inspector. If an iron-fired wood stove can provoke a fire, the gas poses a risk of explosion.

The next category of heating appliances is a cast-iron stove with a heat exchanger. A heat exchanger is a pipe system through which water flows continuously. The exchanger heats the water in direct contact with a heat source. It can be located both outside and inside the furnace body, in other cases it is a coil that surrounds a chimney.

Currently, there are several trusted manufacturers who manufacture all of the above types of furnaces.

Manufacturers

Owner reviews are a great opportunity to study the features of a particular model before buying a stove. Based on them, a list of manufacturers worthy of attention has been compiled.

For a model range of Kalita furnaces it is:

  • Jack Magnum
  • Joy,
  • Arched
  • Taiga,
  • Huntsman
  • Prince Kalita
  • Gaudi
  • Kalita Extreme,
  • The Knight.

Manufacturer - Izhkomtsentr VVD. The collapsible type of construction, the furnace body is made of cast iron 1 cm thick. Some models are characterized by a closed type of heater controlled by ventilation and the presence of a furnace tunnel made of materials such as stainless steel and cast iron.

There are two different ways to design a firebox door: using a coil or talchochlorite. These stones have a positive effect on the body, increase the overall level of immunity and normalize blood pressure. On sale there are models with a built-in heater. But the closed heater is recognized by experts as the more preferable option for use. This is due to the fact that in an enclosed space, stones are heated evenly from all sides, due to which steam becomes easier and more useful.

The arched model features beautiful design and stone cladding. The arch-shaped heater has sashes decorated with forged plates. The temperature in all parts of the steam room is stable and evenly distributed due to increased thermal inertia. The heater holds up to 120 kilograms of stones, heating is carried out in less than 2 hours, after which the temperature is maintained at the right level for a long time.

The Jack Magnum model is made with an open heater. The volume of stones that are placed inside reaches 80 kg. Thanks to the thin cladding, thermal energy quickly accumulates, and then spreads through the steam room.

Along with numerous advantages, the model has its disadvantages:

  • Components (grates) quickly fail, replacing them is problematic,
  • The furnace is heated for a long time in the cold season,
  • The firebox has a low height,
  • In the place where the fuel channel is connected to the body of the stove, there is a narrowing, which is very impractical.

The next market segment is the range of Hephaestus furnaces. Furnaces of this brand are superior to the equipment of competitors in many respects due to an important advantage - accelerated heating of air. It takes only 60 minutes for the surface temperature to reach 7000 degrees. Flame arresters are built into the Hephaestus furnace equipment, therefore fuel is consumed very economically.

Another advantage of these furnaces is their compact size and weight. In addition, the equipment can withstand 15 - 20 years of continuous operation without loss of useful properties. At the manufacturer, you can choose a stove for a room of any size.

And to install the equipment, no additional foundation is needed.

The firebox is made of cast iron, the thickness of which varies from 10 to 60 mm.

The lineup is as follows:

  • BP 01. The main plus is the presence of steam insulation (in order to avoid personal injury), lining with natural material talchochlorite. This model has three variations, each of which holds about 300 kg of stones.
  • PB 02. It supports 2 modes: dry air and wet steam. Heat-resistant glass is installed on the firebox door.

  • SB 03. Small convection oven. With its help, you can heat about 25 square meters of area. This model has its own modifications: ПБ 03 М, ПБ С, ПБ 03 МС. All of them are designed for quick heating of small rooms.
  • PB 04. These are closed wood burning units. The dimensions of the furnace are compact, the equipment is equipped with a waste container and a chimney. The furnace itself is made of cast iron, its doors are made of durable glass.

The official manufacturer emphasizes that the quality of casting at each stage is under the continuous supervision of specialists, and only one bookmark of firewood is enough for 8 hours of continuous operation of the unit. The manufacture of furnace equipment is possible in the “economy” version or in the elite lining of several different types: “Russian steam”, “Optima” and “President”.

The next type - cast-iron stoves "Vesuvius". The Vesuvius lineup consists of furnaces such as Hurricane, Sensation and Legend.

"Sensation" is heated directly from the steam room. It has a ventilated heater and a completely sealed firebox. The stones heat up to 350 degrees.

A very worthy copy is the "Vesuvius Legend" weighing 160 kg. Intended for use in steam rooms, the area of which reaches 10 - 28 cubic meters.

Hurricane is an ideal oven for those who appreciate the traditions of the original Russian bath. The heater is closed, located at the top. The steam at the outlet is small, dispersive. The equipment weighs about 110 kg; the furnace can be heated from an adjacent room. Directly the casing of the furnace is painted with heat-resistant black paint. Heating stones reaches a temperature of +400 degrees.

According to experts, it is impossible to warm the stones in the grid to the desired temperature, the steam becomes heavy and does not bring any benefits.

The sorceress 20 furnace is suitable for both wet and dry baths. The furnace is made of real cast iron, not subject to burnout. Solid furnace, the furnace is covered with heat-resistant enamel.

The Termofor furnace has high efficiency and affordable cost. The manufacturer gives a three-year guarantee for the integrity of the metal.

Main characteristics:

  • High level of security. Each furnace passes all the necessary tests and is manufactured in accordance with current standards.
  • The increased durability. To create, heat-resistant steel with a high percentage of chromium is used.
  • Two operating modes: quick warm-up / maintenance of temperature.
  • Carbon black self-cleaning system.
  • Great design.
  • Ease of transportation.

The Sudarushka furnace is popular, the hallmarks of the model are its quick warm-up and excellent heat capacity.

The list of positive aspects of this equipment can include:

  • fuel economy
  • universality of design
  • simplified installation procedure,
  • light weight
  • ease of care

The design also has disadvantages:

  • Often there are complaints that the furnace furnace quickly bursts. The reason for this may be poor quality cast iron or improper operation.
  • Quickly boils liquid in the tank.

The above structures are in high demand due to their relatively low cost and ease of installation.

Be sure to mention the Finnish bath stoves. Their range is wide, but the cost is significantly higher than on the model of production of the Russian Federation. It is justified, since more expensive metal is used in the manufacture.

The main manufacturers of furnaces are:

  • Harvia is a leader in terms of life,
  • Narvi, a manufacturer of highly environmentally friendly products,
  • Helo is a democratic brand with a simplified design.

Despite the high cost, Finnish-made furnaces are recognized leaders in the global market.

Selection tips

The market offers a wide selection of different models of furnaces. Which one is better, the buyer decides, focusing on their individual needs and financial capabilities. In order not to get into trouble, it is worth familiarizing yourself with the advice of specialists.

These recommendations can help you when choosing and tell you what exactly you should pay attention to when choosing.

  • The quality of the material. It is very important to understand that metal differs in thickness and other quality characteristics.
  • Firebox placement. The furnace is ordinary and elongated. The elongated one is mounted in the opening of the wall, which allows the furnace to be heated both from the relaxation room and from the steam room.

  • The type of water tank can be built-in and mounted. When choosing, it is worth considering what is the specificity of the bath.
  • Performance level. Typically, the manufacturer places detailed information about how much space a particular type of furnace can heat.
  • Type of fuel. Based on what kind of fuel will be used for heating, it is worth paying attention to the wall thickness of the selected model.

  • Type of door. Tempered glass models are much more expensive than analogues, but a wonderful view of the fire will be provided for a long time.
  • Whether the furnace is made entirely of cast iron. There are manufacturers who, wanting to reduce the cost of their products, replace some elements with steel. The disadvantage of such products is that steel significantly reduces the life of the device.

For those who love and know how to work with their hands, there is another option that does not involve the acquisition of a design.

The stove can be made independently from an old cast-iron bath, which is not used for its intended purpose.

But no matter who they are made of, cast iron stoves are excellent products with high performance characteristics that can be used both in a sauna and in a Russian bath. When buying, it is important to carefully carry out a visual inspection and examine all the parameters of the device in order to avoid the wrong decision and purchase the most suitable option.
