How to choose a bathroom mirror

Modern technologies allow producing mirrors of any shape, size and even color. How to choose a high-quality mirror that will not distort reality and truly serve you for many years?

Top secrets

Manufacturer's certificate. Mirrors for the home are not subject to mandatory certification, so there may not be a certificate of conformity issued by the state certification body. But the manufacturer’s certificate, which indicates the materials used in the manufacture of the mirror, should always be. Ask the seller!

How to identify a crooked mirror. In the store, quickly pass by the mirror, looking at yourself: the reflection should not give ripples on the glass, “float”, or distort. Another little secret of choice: bring a hand with a pencil or ruler perpendicular to the mirror and move it in front of it in different directions. If the surface of the mirror is curved, the image will lag slightly.

In the photo: Look mirror of the Bonaldo factory.

The thicker the better. Cheap and thin mirrors may have an uneven surface, and the image in such a mirror may have the wrong proportions. We advise you to watch mirrors with glass thickness from 4 to 6 mm: the larger, the better and more expensive the mirror. Good mirrors are made of sheet silicate glass of the three highest grades (M1 - improved mirror, M2 - mirror, M3 - polished window).

Smoothness is a good sign. It is important to look at the mirrors for scratches, stains, dots and irregularities. Air bubbles that have frozen in a mirror surface should be especially alert. However, any seemingly insignificant flaw is a sign of low quality.

Coating

Look behind the mirror. Moisture resistance and reflective properties depend on the quality of the protective coating on the reverse side. Good mirrors consist of a glass sheet and three layers of coating. The first is reflective (made of silver, as we found out). The second is protective (a film against corrosion, usually made of copper, and in the new generation of environmentally friendly high-quality mirrors - made of neutral metals). The third is also protective (two or three layers of paint in cheaper options and a polymer coating in more expensive ones), which protects against mechanical damage and moisture.

Silver is the best option. Today, the most common coating is silver microfilm with a thickness of 0.15-0.30 microns. The cheaper option is aluminum, it is less stable, and its reflection coefficient is worse (maximum 0.77 versus 0.85-0.87 in silver mirrors). However, aluminum mirrors are no longer being produced. So, if you do not plan to buy an antique mirror (gold or bronze was added to the amalgam before, so you should look at the mirrors in antique salons: they emit a soft glow, refresh and younger), then the only option is a mirror with a silver coating.

The form

Rectangular - The most common option, which is installed in a vertical or horizontal position.

Square - visually makes the room more proportional. It is a good choice for narrow and rectangular rooms.

Oval - like a rectangular one, it is installed in a vertical or horizontal position. Unlike the rectangular model, it has rounded corners that give the interior a harmonious appearance.

Round - visually increases the volume of the room. Like the oval model, a round mirror makes the room more harmonious.

Curly - differs in the original form (wavy, heart, cat, butterfly, sun, moon). Such a mirror will become a bright decorative accent that can transform the interior of the bathroom.

Important: for the interior to be decorated with an exclusive mirror, use mirror tiles - square, triangular, radial. Of these fragments, often decorated with facets, a unique mirror is made up.

Hanging

Vertical - visually increases the height of the wall. A mirror with a vertical mount is ideal for low bathrooms.

Horizontal - visually expands the wall. The horizontal model is recommended for narrow bathrooms.

Symmetrical - usually round or square. Such a mirror can only be hung in one position.

Material

Layer (Amalgam)

Unlike the mirror for the hallway, the model for the bathroom must withstand moisture. Therefore, such mirrors have a silver, not an aluminum amalgam. Models with a silver layer are distinguished by better reflectivity and resistance to damage, but are more expensive.

Mirrors with an amalgam consisting of nickel, chromium and gold have the highest operational characteristics, but for most users they are not available due to their high cost.

Important: to avoid delamination of the aluminum amalgam, the back of the mirror should be greased with a solution of turpentine and melted wax (2: 1 ratio).

Frame

When choosing a mirror, pay attention to the frame material. The main requirement is moisture resistance.

The most beautiful, expensive and versatile wooden frame should be treated with special compounds that increase moisture resistance.

Effective and moisture resistant stainless steel / chromed metal can be called an ideal option, but such a frame will not fit into every interior.

Plastic also withstands moisture, differs in a variety of shapes and colors, but is poorly suited for framing large mirrors (deformation is possible). And the look of such a frame is more modest than a wooden or metal counterpart. Sometimes there are frames made of stone or glass.

The foundation

As a rule, the base of the mirror is made of chipboard or MDF. Particleboard is a cheap material, but not waterproof enough - as a result, the product will quickly lose its original appearance. For the same reason, you should not choose a mirror cabinet / cabinet from chipboard. The more expensive MDF resists moisture much better.

Style

Classical - an elegant frame, decorated in various historical styles (baroque, rococo, classic). The frame is characterized by curvilinear shapes and rich decor (curlicues, fine carvings). The classic-style frame looks massive and is suitable for spacious bathrooms.

There is no backlight in the “classic” mirror, so it is worthwhile to arrange a cable for two sconces in advance. The shape of the model is rectangular, square or oval.

Modern - the frame of the mirror has a modest decor (hi-tech) or is completely absent (minimalism). Therefore, the frame in a modern style fits perfectly into the interior of a small bathroom.

In a "modern" mirror, lighting and a number of other functions are often provided. The shape can vary from a simple rectangle to a heart. Round and oval models are very popular.

Important: Round or rectangular mirrors in roughly processed wooden or forged frames are suitable for Provence / Country.

Mirrors with drawings and rhinestones are very effective, but such models are more expensive.

The size

The size of the mirror is determined by the dimensions of the bathroom. For small rooms, you should also choose a small mirror, a large model that perfectly reflects the full-length human figure will fit perfectly into the spacious room. It is important that the mirror is harmoniously combined with the proportions of other interior elements.

Before choosing a mirror, you should measure the space reserved for it. It is advisable to use roulette. The resulting numbers will help you find the model of the desired dimensions.

Standard parameters (for a rectangular model):

  • 100x30 cm - full-length figure reflection,
  • 35x55 cm - reflection of a figure waist-high.

You can focus on such recommendations:

  • the width of the rectangular / square mirror should not be less than the size of the sink (for a round mirror or curly model, any width).
  • the average height of the mirror is ½ of the height of an adult.
  • the distance from the top edge of the mirror to the ceiling is 10-15 cm, and the distance from the sides to the wall is 2.5-5 cm.

Landmarks for the mirror above the washbasin:

  • the height of the lower edge of the mirror is defined as follows: the upper rim of the sink is located at a distance of 80-85 cm from the floor, while the mirror is installed 35-45 cm above it (place for a soap dish, glasses for a toothbrush, etc.),
  • the height of the upper edge of the mirror depends on the height of the user - the optimal value ranges from 170-220 cm from the floor.

Lighting

To illuminate the space near the mirror, backlighting is used. In addition to its main function, it visually increases the space of the bathroom.

There are three types of backlighting.

Internal - LED, built directly into the mirror (lighting around the perimeter or in separate places). Such lighting is expensive and is most often found in a mirror cabinet. Wall mirrors are rarely equipped with interior lighting, as this significantly increases the cost.

External - spotlights, spots, sconces, which are best installed on both sides of the mirror and / or on top.

Decorative - Gives the mirror a spectacular appearance, but does not have a functional value. This backlight can be internal or external.

In small bathrooms, the mirror is located opposite the light source. In spacious rooms, it is better to install a backlit mirror. It is recommended that you plan your mirror lighting system before purchasing it.

Equipment

Modern mirrors can be equipped with a magnifying mirror that facilitates makeup and shaving, the function of heating the glass to prevent it from fogging, a socket for an electric shaver or hairdryer, a clock, an mp3 player and a radio (listening to music), and temperature sensors.

The most “advanced” models are equipped with a hidden LCD-monitor that allows you to watch movies from a PC or DVD and television broadcasts.

Important: When purchasing a mirror with built-in electrical appliances, pay attention to safety. The product must have a protection class of IP44 (the first digit indicates the level of protection against the penetration of foreign objects, the second - from liquid). Such a mirror can be placed in the bathroom anywhere, except for a place for swimming (preferably at a distance of at least half a meter from a source of moisture).

What mirror to choose in the bathroom: we define the concept

What is more important - storage space or a chic frame? And maybe practicality and moisture resistance? Or interior design: a large mirror makes the small room seem spacious. Before moving on to the complex and responsible process of choosing a bathroom mirror, it makes sense to familiarize yourself with the main types and features of the options for selling our mirrors on sale:

One of the optimal solutions for a small room may be a mirror fixed on the facade of a cabinet made of waterproof chipboard placed above the sink. Thus, two problems can be solved at once: storage of cosmetics and the location of the mirror. An example of a mirror cabinet can be seen in the photo.

If the bathroom has two sinks, a symmetrical arrangement of two mirrors might be a good option.

When a shower cabin is installed instead of a bath, it makes sense to think about placing a mirror on one of its side wings.

Often you want to move away from traditional options by creating your own bathroom design project. A mirror mosaic or a wall completely lined with a mirror can come to the fore in it. Such solutions give the interior of the room not only a bright accent, but also the missing volume.

For the same purpose, choose a mirror screen for the bath. It should be durable, so often instead of mounting mirror elements on it, they simply apply a reflective coating - it is much easier to care for and everyday use.

It is convenient when an additional magnifying cosmetic mirror is located near the main mirror. It is installed on the countertop at the sink, if space permits, or fixed on the bracket at the main mirror. Such a mirror can usually be rotated at different angles, achieving the desired angle. Often they are provided with an additional LED backlight.

Sophisticated fans of advanced technology can purchase a mirror with a built-in monitor and speakers. The mirror connects to WI-FI, and now you are taking a shower for your favorite video clips. Manufacturers took into account that using a touch sensor with wet hands is not very convenient, so you can control what is happening on the screen without a single touch: it reacts to the heat of your skin at a distance.

How to choose a bathroom mirror design

Since the mirror is not only useful, but also an aesthetically important subject, it is necessary to harmoniously fit it into the design concept of the room. For example, an original wide frame with an unusual bright print can be an interesting accent, adding an attractive contrast to the interior. The options for such mirrors can be found on our website.

Rectangular mirrors in wide wooden frames with rounded corners fit perfectly into the country style. The frame coating must be treated in a special way to prevent deformation from constant air humidity. The same applies to frames in the form of weaving from a vine or imitation of wooden window shutters.

A frame with a partially cracked coating and half-washed off paint will become an integral part of the interior in the popular Provence or Shabby Chic styles.

The luxury of Rococo or Victorian style is emphasized by stucco and gilding, as well as massive frames with elements of embossing and forging. It is important here not to cross the line beyond which the elegance of luxury turns into an inappropriate pomposity.

Strict forms are as if created for the bathroom in high tech style. Here, plastic, aluminum and glass frames come to the fore again.

Symmetrical mirrors are a godsend for timeless classics. But to design a bathroom in a modern or ultra-modern style, it is better to use mirrors with LED lighting.

A special expression to the interior of the bathroom will give a mirror made of organic glass. The advantages of this material include its strength, lightness and safety - it is suitable even for children's design. Such decorative elements can be attached directly to the tile, and they will effectively shade the main mirror and visually expand the space.

Sometimes, in order to advantageously shade the main mirror, several additional small matte mirrors are placed around it. Their shine looks somewhat muffled thanks to a special treatment: engraving and matting of the reflective surface. When developing a project of a similar design, it is worth considering that between the faces of the mirrors there must certainly be a small space that provides free air circulation.

The so-called “colored” mirrors look unusual and attractive in the interior - their reflective layer is not transparent, but gray, golden, silver or blue. This also includes chameleon mirrors, the color of which varies depending on the selected angle, and if you look closely, you can notice an amazingly beautiful mirror gradient.

When for a long time it is not possible to find an option that harmoniously fits into the existing design, it is better to give preference to a mirror without frames. The frame can be purchased separately or made - to order or independently.

Which mirror is better to choose in the bathroom: basic parameters

The following characteristics are of primary importance:

Spraying. The mirror consists of glass, on which three layers of coating are applied. The first layer is reflective. It is optimal if it is made of silver, as it is recognized as a more moisture-resistant metal than, for example, aluminum. In addition, it compares favorably with the quality of reflection and is less prone to mechanical damage. The second layer protects against corrosion, it consists of copper or other metals. The third layer - paint or polymer coating - prevents mechanical damage and also protects against moisture.

The size of the mirror. It directly depends on the area of the room. For example, a small bathroom is unlikely to fit a mirror that reflects you in full growth. Typically, the width of the mirror matches the width of the sink.

Sometimes it is difficult to find a model of the right size. Then it makes sense to set broader parameters: for example, a width of 65 to 85 cm and a height of 70 to 90 cm. It is worth considering that the optimal height for placing a mirror is considered to be a distance of 35-45 cm from the sink. And to protect the mirror surface from splashing water, you can hang a small shelf over the sink.

Mirror frame should also be made of moisture resistant material. For example, it can be plastic, chromed metal or stainless steel, glass.

Heating function solves the problem of fogged mirrors. The budget alternative is a special solution for mirrors, which also prevents fogging.

Lighting. A light source placed above the mirror is the most convenient option. The lamp located at the other end of the room can be shaded, which will negatively affect the quality of reflection. In addition, luminaires located close to the mirror surface heat it up a bit, thereby partially eliminating the problem of fogging.

An original and functional solution is the LED illumination of the bathroom mirror. So the mirror frame becomes an element of the bathroom decor, the effect of a smooth, harmonious glow and clear reflection is achieved.

Product Features

The hallway without a mirror looks empty and boring. Even the most stylish interior will leave an impression of incompleteness if this item is missing. When looking in a beautiful mirror before leaving, only the most positive thoughts arise that remain with the person for a long time. In addition to the emotional component, this item can adjust the geometry of the hallway or change the emphasis in color design. It also has a number of additional features:

  • closes mechanical defects on the decorative wall covering, if any,
  • visually increases the area of the room,
  • helps to shade or complement the overall design decision,
  • in combination with a baguette gives the hallway solidity, and when combined with an LED strip, it becomes another light source.

A wide range of models and a variety of design options make it possible to choose a product, focusing on individual needs and interior features.

A well-chosen mirror can completely change the appearance of the hallway. It places and changes emphasis, reflects light, and performs a lot of other useful functions.

Classification

Today, the mirror in the hallway has become an obligatory subject, without which it is difficult to imagine a modern interior. When leaving the house, you must always look yourself to be sure of the neat appearance. Without the opportunity to look at yourself from the side, a feeling of uncertainty arises, which often leaves an imprint on the mood and performance. Not for nothing, according to popular belief, returning home for a forgotten thing, you need to look at yourself in the mirror. The dimensions and shape are not as important as the fact of its presence near the entrance.

By installation method

The way to install the mirror in the hallway may be different. It is not necessary to resort to a laborious drilling process or look for other ways to hang the product on the wall, you can simply install a mirror on the floor. An additional plus of this solution is the ability to see your reflection in full growth. It is advisable to choose a floor structure when the hallway area allows, since in a small room it will not look very appropriate. Among the advantages of such a product:

  • Stylish appearance
  • good review
  • the ability to easily move around the apartment.

Floor options, due to their large size, are able to make the room visually larger and lighter. To ensure that the structure is stable, it is fixed to the frame, which is tilted and leans on a special rack. Baguette can be matched to the color and stylistic design of the interior.

If there is free space on the wall and the room area is limited, you can hang a mirror. The sizes of wall reflective surfaces can be different - from the smallest to the largest, and their location is both horizontal and vertical. Based on preferences and needs, you can choose a mirror in the floor or a small composition of several elements of different shapes. They are located both separately and complete with furniture: a shoe rack or a banquet.

The wall mirror must be carefully fixed. To install it, it is not enough just to drive in nails, which may fall out over time, which will lead to the fall of the product. It is recommended to use a screwdriver, screws and dowels.

If the hallway area is very small, you can mount the mirror in the furniture structure using liquid nails. There are widespread options for the location of products on folding cabinets of tall shoes, which also helps to save space by connecting two functionally important items. An interesting design technique is the use of mirror finishes, for example, in the form of tiles. The product acts simultaneously as a decorative element and a reflective surface, solving several important tasks at once.

In shape

Modern hallway mirrors differ not only in the installation method. Designers suggest using different forms of products to enhance the stylistic effect. In such a simple way, you can organically fit a mirror into any interior solutions.

Rectangular shape is considered traditional. It looks concise, helps to structure the lines of the room, creates a sense of geometric order. Often this form provides for large wall or floor options. They are stable and provide an opportunity to look at yourself in full growth. Also, with their help, you can visually change the perception of space:

  • pull out a room with a low ceiling in an upright position,
  • expand the boundaries of tight spaces with horizontal hanging.

A square mirror looks less familiar, despite its usual shape. It is often decorated with design elements and complements interiors made in modern or ethno-style. Without decorations, it looks rustic because of the equal length of all sides.

If you need to smooth the sharpness of the lines, give the room softness, you should pay attention to the shapes that do not have corners. The oval mirror in the hallway looks particularly elegant and sophisticated, organically fits into the classic, Scandinavian styles and art deco. It can be hung on the wall or installed as a floor. For this form it is not necessary to use catchy decor.

Another option may be a round mirror. It looks more concise and has a smaller size. To place a circle of large diameter requires a lot of space even on an empty wall, so the designers suggest using small round mirrors connected by a collage.

When fixing several mirrors to the wall with liquid nails, it will not be possible to change the placement of the composition elements without damaging the finishing material. Therefore, before the final fixation, you need to carefully consider their location.

Custom compositions can be selected for compositions. If the interior allows, and there is a desire to make it more original, you can order a mirror in the form of an animal or a star. Another option is wavy lines on one or more sides. An unusual option will be a mirror in the entire wall, decorated with fatsety. This technique allows you to:

  • visually expand the boundaries of the room,
  • provide an opportunity to consider a large area,
  • decorate the interior.

More often, a rhombus is chosen as the form of distribution of lines, since its elongated configuration allows you to see the face at a distance, at the same time it looks structured and vibrant. If you put such a design in a frame, you get a real panel that can be used not only for its intended purpose, but also as a decoration. For this type of decor, various forms of the external design and the pattern of the internal facet can be used, the design of the mirror can also be different.

To size

The dimensions of the mirrors in the interiors of the hallway also provide different. For large rooms, you can not be shy in choosing. Here it is worth placing a voluminous round mirror or hanging a fatset panel in a massive baguette on the wall. Small compositions are recommended for a small entrance hall, for example, a collage of geometric shapes on a wall or a compact product suspended above a console.

Choosing the appropriate option in the corridor, you need to decide what degree of reflection it is desirable to obtain. The size of the mirrors in the hallway, the dimensions of other interior items directly depend on this. If you need to see yourself to your full height, and it is possible to leave the wall free, you can decorate it with a solid or prefabricated product from floor to ceiling. In this version, the design of the hallways with a mirror allows you to expand the space, since reflection is perceived as a continuation of the corridor. It is also worth thinking about a long oval or rectangular product. Long mirrors can be:

  • included in the factory design of furniture for the hallway,
  • hung separately on the wall
  • put on the floor.

If there is not enough space to place a large mirror, it is worth giving preference to the option with a reflection to the waist, which will make it possible to draw up a fairly complete picture of the appearance. In addition, such a model will not occupy a large area in the corridor. Most often, these mirrors are oval or rectangular. Even less space is needed for the product, where you can only see yourself to the chest. These are small round mirrors that are placed on the wall. The minimum comfortable size can be considered a diameter of 30 cm.

By frame

Design options for mirrors are offered both with edges trimmed by the factory method, and with a frame in which the most daring design ideas can be embodied. They help to design the hallway in accordance with a certain style or give it a bright color accent. You need to select the thickness according to taste preferences, as well as being guided by the general stylistic direction. Most often, frames are:

  • baguette - gold, copper or silver color, with or without patina,
  • wooden - imitating the texture of different tree species,
  • leather - from natural or artificial raw materials of different colors, textures,
  • forged - made in dark gold with a patina, bronze or copper.

Modern interiors are often teeming with vibrant or contrasting tones such as white, black or wenge. They help to emphasize the overall color gamut, blending harmoniously into space, or vice versa, to form an accent spot. The colors familiar to metal products are also popular - gold, silver, copper and bronze. Such frames, depending on the shade, give the room a brutal modern, or, on the contrary, classic sophisticated look.

The choice depending on the style of the interior

A mirror is the same element of the interior as furniture. Therefore, to create a stylish solution, you need to select it in accordance with the general orientation of the room. It is worth paying attention not only to the size, but also to the shape of the product. So, a strict concise hi-tech, like any other modern style, will advantageously look with straight-line mirrors: square or rectangular. If a frame is provided, it should be made in a minimalistic design, for example, of dark wenge-colored leather.

Genuine and artificial leather - materials on which scratches easily remain, they can only be restored under special conditions. Therefore, it is better to abandon the floor design with a leather frame.

For the Art Nouveau style, futuristic round or simple square shapes are suitable. Classical decorations should not be here.If there is a frame, its design should be from unusual raw materials imitating fantastic materials. This style, like no other, has the power to create collages from several mirrors. For example, on a white wall, you can place a pair of medium-sized round reflective surfaces with a diameter of about 50 cm, and next to them - in a chaotic manner, small items in the amount of 3-4 pieces, 15-20 centimeters each.

Retro-styled interiors include everything that hints at antiquity. They are characterized by large mirror paintings, the frames of which are made of wood or forging. For example, you can place a massive rectangular rectangular mirror with a dark wood frame over the dresser in the hallway. In a small room it is worth hanging the product with an overview to the waist, fixing it above the banquet.

The classic style is emphasized by beautiful baguettes, mostly gold and bronze. The more grandfather the interior, the greater should be the thickness of the frame. The shapes of the mirrors can be different, the main thing is that the decoration looks massive. For example, you can place in the hallway a large oval-shaped mirror with a bronze baguette. It will look perfect above the console with curved legs.

Rustic and eco-style are characterized by simplicity of elements, natural materials and natural colors. The shapes of the reflective webs can be round or rectangular. A small rectangular mirror with a dark wooden frame, under which you can put a brutal bench of the same material, will look good against the background of a light plank floor.

Features of products with backlight

A rare host can boast of having a window in the hallway. Therefore, most often it is necessary to equip additional lighting here. To place the backlight, you can select the mirror area. Examples of successful solutions:

  • spotlights on the ceiling are a traditional option, while it’s important to remember that light falling on the face directly from the top leaves large shadows,
  • sconces on the sides, with which you can emphasize the color or stylistic design,
  • floor lamp, which is the main attribute of creating coziness,
  • rotary spots, lamps which can become the main source of lighting,
  • LED strips creating a soft, pleasant light.

The choice of lighting devices should be made in accordance with the style of the hallway and the color of the walls. In the classic interior, where the bronze color prevails, steel spots will be inappropriate. And in the hi-tech style, it would not be a good idea to place cute sconces in folded fabric lampshades with ribbons.

Design options

It is not necessary to decorate the mirror with a frame or using unusual shapes. Alternatively, directly on its surface, you can apply a picture. Performance techniques may be as follows:

  • sandblast - the surface of the mirror will be matte and rough,
  • photo printing - the picture will be colored, but the mirror canvas will remain smooth.

Additionally, the decor can be applied using decoupage technique, which will give the mirror a stylistic focus. A plus of such a solution is the possibility of personally translating an idea into reality. If you show your imagination, you can decorate the frame or mirror surface with a multi-colored decorative stone, a beautiful mosaic made of broken tiles in oriental style or stucco elements.

The decor can also be thematic. For example, on New Year's Eve, coniferous tree branches decorated with Christmas toys and shiny ribbons will look spectacular in the upper part of the mirror. If any holiday is taking place at home, you can additionally emphasize the event by placing a colorful inscription from tinted toothpaste on a smooth surface. This technique will create a good mood immediately upon entering home.

How and where to hang a mirror

When planning the hallway interior, you need to take care of the location of the mirror in advance. The hinged product should not touch the hands when dressing, so that there is no possibility of its falling. Therefore, it is better to place the mirror in such a way that there is enough space for movement:

  • on the wall near the front door, where there is no chance of accidentally hitting it,
  • in the corner, as this is the place with the least traffic
  • in a niche by placing a backlight,
  • decorate the whole wall,
  • over a shoe rack, dresser or bench.

The mirror can be placed on the front door only in exceptional cases, as it should be by gluing it with liquid nails. Moreover, it is better that it is not too large and heavy. Since this is a place with maximum traffic and minimum static, the risk of a product falling is very high.

When choosing a location, you must also take into account the illumination - the light should fall on the face in front, and not from the side. It is better not to hang the product directly opposite the front door, according to ancient beliefs and feng shui, this is not the best place for a mirror. At least a flickering reflection at the time of exit and entry can be annoying, causing unnecessary emotions.

To securely fix the mirror on the wall, you need to drill a hole with a screwdriver, drive in the dowel, and then screw in a self-tapping screw or fasteners on which you can hang the product.

Feng Shui Hallway Mirror

Since it is the entrance hall that "meets" the guests of the apartment, it is from it that it is worth starting the application of the principles of feng shui in practice. The basic rule is the accumulation and increase of positive energy. In order to stimulate the process, you need to consider the following rules:

  • you can’t place a mirror strictly opposite the entrance, as favorable flows will be reflected and go in the opposite direction,
  • the shape of the product should resemble a circle or oval,
  • a man must see himself in him at his full height,
  • it’s better if the mirror is clean, without drawings and inscriptions that change positive energy,
  • you can hang several reflective surfaces on the sides of the front door,
  • the mirrors should reflect beautiful seascapes of paintings or money talismans.

The arrangement of the entrance hall is an important stage in creating a “cozy nest”. Correctly positioning the mirror, you can make this room as comfortable as possible, creating a positive attitude immediately upon returning home. If it is not possible to place the product according to the recommendations of experts and popular exercises, it’s worth just decorating it more often with a sincere smile, filling it with positive energy.

Models for different rooms

The presence of a frame in the mirror requires special attention to the interior design of the room, since the ensemble should show a complete stylistic coincidence. In this case, the simplest way out will be a model without a frame. It fits perfectly into any style.

For the bathroom you will need an oval mirror with moisture resistant characteristics. In this case, the main indicators are reliability, resistance to water and temperature extremes, and durability. The frame should be made of stainless material (steel, plastic). The ideal option is the presence of a non-fogging surface.

For the bedroom, the oval model is also suitable. Such a mirror will occupy a small space, but at the same time will be able to show its owner in full growth. Rounded shapes add elegance and sophistication to the interior. It can be placed above the bedside table so that at any moment you can look at yourself and preen yourself. The mirror can be on legs, and stand on a dresser or dressing table, and not hang on the wall. This technique will add extra comfort to the bedroom.

The oval mirror can be supplemented with backlight. This will enliven the interior, add dynamism. This decor option is suitable for both the bedroom and the hallway. The mirror on the wall will help expand the space, add light. It can also be placed on the door. This room in the apartment is difficult to imagine without reflective surfaces, because before leaving the house on the street, you must definitely look at yourself.

Fatset or frame?

A chamfered face on a reflective surface is a facet mirror. It will add light, and also expand the space. It can be placed in the living room. This room does not often have this piece of furniture. And in vain, because it adds coziness, elegance and beauty to the atmosphere of the hall. Such a mirror can be hung in a high-tech room or in a classic solution.

Models with a heavy wooden frame fit perfectly into the classic interior design. It is worth choosing carved frames of a dark shade. This option is suitable for a room with furniture made of expensive wood.

For advanced high-tech futurism or fusion, oval mirrors with a frame, but already light shades, are also suitable. The frame can be not only in the usual classical version, but also be asymmetric or made by one’s own hands, that is, absolutely unique and individual.

Faceted models are more versatile, but you need to choose them more carefully than options with a frame that can attract attention. In this case, everything should be focused on the reflective surface. There should not be any scratches, scuffs, chips, distortions on it. It is worth taking a closer look at your reflection. It should not be distorted and deformed.
